The Messiah’s Relationship to Prophet Mohammad (peace of God be upon them)

The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Both in this world and in the Hereafter, I am the nearest of all the people to Jesus, the son of Mary. The prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different, but their religion is one.”

Further tradition mentions:

Apostle of Allah saying: “I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no prophet between me and him.”

Theses are the traditions narrated by Abu Huraira and contained in the collection of Bukhari Sharif

The knowledge of these traditions is extremely important for Muslims and Christians. In depth relationship is hardly taken into account. The main concentration is on the difference which may have appeared centuries later from the time of the prophets. Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him, left no doubt whatsoever as to who is nearest to Jesus peace be upon him in the world and in the Hereafter.

Another important historical fact mentioned by the Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him is that there had been no prophet between them. It indicates that the Islamic era is the continuation of the Divine Mission. The theological and historical differences can be resolved through dialogue rather than taking up arms, which further confuse the faith and bread hate in the place of love for fellow men.

Further tradition mentions:

The Prophet said: “If anyone testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone Who has no partners, and that Mohammad is His servant and His Messenger, and that Jesus is Allah’s Servant and His Messenger and His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him to Paradise with the deeds which he had done, even if those deeds were few.

(Further mention adds), such a person can enter Paradise through any of its eight gates he likes.

A concise message is given to the people of faith that in order to maintain their spiritual link, its revival and survival, a connection with Prophet Mohammad is essential nature. It opens the door to dialogue between two great religions. The attachment to Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him does not mean abandoning love and respect for Jesus peace be upon him in any way, but simply accepting the truth and the Final Message from the Lord of the Worlds for one’s own salvation.
